News from the High Court of Karnataka

The Karnataka High Court has stayed Karnataka State Law University’s fresh notification that had put age restrictions for admission to its courses. The university had put a maximum age limit of 30 years for admission to three year LL B course and 20 years for five year BA LL B course. But this notification which was to be effective from the academic year 2010 – 11 was challenged by a resident of Puttur, Mr. P. Laxmiprasad, student of Vivekananda law College. Thus, a division bench headed by Chief Justice J S Khehar issued stay on the university’s notification.
