International Women’s Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at Vivekananda Law College Campus on 08/03/2023. A special talk on the topic “One woman many role” was held during this occasion. The programme was organized by the Women Cell of the college in association with Adhivaktha Parishad Karnataka Dakshina Prantha , Puttur Unit.
Dr. Dhaneshwari , Asst. Prof. of SDM PG College was the resource person. Speaking on the theme of the United Nations for this year’s International Women’s Day, i.e ‘Digit all: Innovation and technology for gender equality’, she said that it is necessary for young girls and women to break the bounds and shackles laid down by the society. Women should rise above the narrow mindedness and prove their abilities.
The programme was presided over by Sri Chethan Nayak S, Governing Council member of Vivekananda Law College .He said that women were empowered by continuous learning and clear vision. He reiterated on women’s equal opportunities on both the economical and social welfare that reduce inequality in the society.
Smt Akshatha A P, the Principal, addressed the gathering on the occasion and appreciated women and their role in all walks of life, whether in domestic field or in various other professional fields, women achieve a pinnacle everywhere. Women play a dominant role in the society and also illustrated the achievements of kalpana Chawla and Mary Kom.

Smt. Subhashini J Coordinator of Women cell in her introductory speech spoke about the impressive history which goes back to 1900s and said that it is a global event of joy and action. It celebrates the social, economical, cultural and political achievements of women.
Thumb impression of both the genders was collected in a cloth sheet and was displayed to symbolically showcase the support to equality.
The programme was compered by Krithika of IIBALLB. Manasa of IIILLB welcomed the gathering. Thejaswini proposed vote of thanks.
