All India Moot Court Competition 2020

On the 21st February 2020 Vivekananda Law College had Organized All India Moot Court Competition. Dignitaries on the Dias Were Honourable Justice Natraj .R,Judge High Court Of Karnataka, Sri Veivek Subba Reddy, Senior Advocate, High Court of Karnataka, Bangalore, Sri. Manohar K.V, Advocate, President, Puttur Bar Association, Sri Krishna Kumar Shetty, Joint Secretary, Viveklananda Vidya Vardhaka Sangha, Sri Vijayanarayana K.M, Correspondent of Vivekananda Law College, Dr. B.K Ravindra Director Of Legal Studies, Smt. Akshatha A.P, Principal of Vivekananda Law College and Alumini Association Members Were Present.

Programme started with the Blessings of Almighty.

Dr. B.K Ravindra welcomed the gathering. He gave importance to character derived from swami Vivekananda and he explained what “Nyayena Dharyathe Lokaha” meant and also explained to students the importance of practical side. He highlighted the importance of culture of india and asked participants to carry the fragrance of Dakshina Kannada.

Honourable Justice Sri Natraj .R addressed the audience about significance of moot court and said that Mangalore is a retired place of Lord Parashurama. He talked about the benefits of moot exercise. Justice said that participating in moot court event is a wonderful experience. Justice explained a case which he dealt about Admiralty Jurisdiction as a result he could study more about different aspects of law.

Sri Vivek Subba Reddy observed that the quality of the competition, was very good. Mr.Reddy asked to give exposure to practical side of things and gave examples of Abraham Lincoln and Mahatma Gandhi and also talked about the abilities a lawyer need to have and gave the example of Kobe Bryant a basket ball player about inspiration. He spoke about patriotism and asked everybody to work for nation and said naition is first and then individual.

Sri. Manohar K.V said that Law College is scared place where lawyers are born. He said now days this profession has unfortunately advocates profession has become business. Mr.Vivek Reddy stressed for the need of quality advocate and asked more people to join law. He said that we are mutual enemies and mutual friends in the profession and asked students to take challenge and develop their personality.

Sri Krishna Kumar Shetty spoke about the institution that it is a student oriented education and stressed about the independence of judiciary.

Indiresh, Hon’ble Prof. Dr. P. Ishwar Bhat, Vice-Chancellor, Karnataka State Law University, Hubli, Vishveshwara Bhat Bangaradka President of Governing Council Vivekananda Law College , Sri Vijayanarayana K.M, Correspondent of Vivekananda Law College, Dr. B.K Ravindra, Director Of Legal Studies, Smt. Akshatha A.P, Principal of Vivekananda Law College and Shri Shashidhar, President, Alumini Association Were Presided. Programme started with the Blessings of Almighty.

Sri. Subramanya agartha welcomed the gathering. He focused on culture of nation, patriotism and said that ‘we may not be totally perfect, but part of us is perfect and ended the speech. Felicitation ceremony for the dignitaries took place.

Sri. Vishweshwara Bhat Bangaradka addressed the gathering that organizing a moot court competition is not easy, but when all of us joined their hands together, it brings success and thanked each one of them who contributed for this event to make it a success.

Justice John Michael Cunha spoke about the moot court competition and asked the students to take part in these competition so that it helps them to become true professional.

Justice Mr. E.V. Indiresh praised the institution for conducting moot court competition. Justice said that the country should have strong legal system and we all should invest our time for betterment of the country.

Prof. Dr. P. Ishwar Bhat addressed the gathering and asked the students to understand fact and law. Mr.Bhat asked not to deviate from moral principles especially in law. “abuse of trust”, should not happen. Mr.Bhat said that family law cannot be absolute law.

Winners were announced and the prizes worth Rupees One Lakh were distributed.
