Legal Aid Cell of Vivekananda Law College organized 72nd Constitution Day celebration at college auditorium on 26/11/2021.
The Guest of Honour and Correspondent of Vivekananda Law College Vijayanarayana K.M inaugurated the event by lightening the lamp. The preamble of Constitution was read during the occasion. Later a special issue of wall magazine of Political Science titled ‘The Constitution of India’ was released. Addressing the gathering afterwards, Sri. Vijayanarayana K.M. said that the Constitution of India is based on Indian customs and traditions. Along with upholding the Indian heritage, constitution of India gives the citizens an opportunity to safeguard their rights and develop themselves in a full-fledged manner from legal perspective.
Presiding over the programme, Smt. Akshatha A.P, Principal of College, said that the Constitution Day, which was celebrated as a legal day from 1949 to 2015, is now being celebrated as a Constitution Day throughout the country. Our Constitution not only sees everyone as equal but also gives them equal opportunity. Addressing the student community, she continued that law students must take this privilege to spread the message of Constitution in this auspicious day in a meaningful way, and work towards delivering the Constitution’s aspiration to the society as a whole despite of the difference in the caste, creed and social beliefs found amongst the Indians belonging to various communities and religions.,
Sri Lakshmikantha A, Assistant Professor of Political Science, was the resource person gave a talk on the topic “An overview of the Indian constitution”. Explaining the constitution’s background, its development and the need for a constitution in the 21st century he said that Constitution deals with life and welfare of the people. Legal Aid Cell coordinators, Assistant Professors of Law Smt.Sangeetha S.M and Sri. Koushik C, were present in the occasion.
Teaching and Non- teaching staff of college enthusiastically participated in the event. Director of Physical Education Sri Naveen Kumar M.K, Computer Assistant Sri Thilak gave technical assistance. Samprita, a student of II LL.B welcomed the gathering, Pratheeksha of IILL.B proposed a vote of thanks.
