Faculty Development Programme

Vivekananda law college organized three days’ Faculty development programme from 16th to 18th of March. Dignitaries on the Dias were Vishweshwara Bhat Bangaradka President, Vijaya Narayan K.M Correspondent of Vivekananda Law College Governing Council, Dr. Santhosh Kumar A, Alumnus of Vivekananda Law College and Asst. Prof. of Law, S.D.M. Law College, Mangalore, Dr. B.K. Ravindra, Director of Legal Studies and Smt. Akshatha A.P, Principal of Vivekananda Law College.

The programme started with blessings of the Almighty, Sri Vijaya Narayan K.M sharing his pearls of wisdom said that learning is a lifelong activity and change is a way of life. Adapting and modifying our learning and teaching method as per the changing situation is a new challenge we have to face these days.

On this occasion the felicitation programme was organized to the alumnus Dr. Santhosh Kumar A, for being awarded Doctoral Degree in Law.

In the inaugural speech Dr. Santhosh Kumar A, quoted the words of Aristotle that, “Teaching Is the highest form of learning and research is the manifestation”. He stressed more on learning oriented teaching and asked to focus on research teaching and learning process. He said that as we progress in academics knowing more and more about less and less becomes important. If the institution has to grow it has to imbibe specialization .He advised the teachers to earn unique selling proposition. He concluded the speech by saying teachers arethe ultimate masters.

Sri Vishweshwara Bhat Bangaradka, addressed the gathering that Faculty Development programme must be conducted for all the educational institutions in a systematic way. Teachers should not lack the style of teaching and should be more cautious and responsible in updating and upgrading themselves to meet need of the students of the present scenario. He continued saying that the worth of individual has to be noted in society for the good deeds.
In the next session papers were presented by the teaching staff.

• Smt. Subhashini J on “Judicial Review.”
• Sri Koushik C on “The Constitutional Interpretation.”
• Ms. Hitha Dechamma on “Trial Of Summons Cases By Magistrate.”
• Ms. ShreeRaksha on “Trial Before A Court Of Session.”
• Sri Kumar S on “Comparative Analysis Of U.K And Indian Constitution.”
• Smt. Sandhya P.M on “Gandhi as a Jurist.”
• Ms. Harinakshi P on “Marriage is Not a Sacrament but Contract.”
• Sri Sudhir Kumar Tholpady on “Fundamental Rules Of Evidence.”
• Annapurna V Shetty on “Changes bought to Cr.P.C. 1973.”
• Sri Krishna Bhat on “Economics as a basis of Social Welfare and Social Justice.”
• Smt. Geetha Gowri on “Legal aspects in Kannada.”

Dr. B.K. Ravindra, Director of Legal Studies, gave the insightful view on each of the paper presented and gave proper guidance. The session ended with the sharing of opinions of the teaching faculty.
