On 18.09.2019 Moot Court society and Legal Aid Committee was inaugurated. Dignitaries on the dias were Manohar K.V Advocate and President of Puttur Bar association, Dr. B K Ravindra, Director of Legal studies, Akshatha A.P, Principal of Vivekananda Law college.
Manohar KV gave the inaugural address to the students to become the model Vakil. Sir mentioned the quote of Mahathama Gandi “My heart sank into shoes”, when he presented his first case. In order to face the situations tomorrow we should prepare ourselves from now. As being the law students we have to study various citations to present cases before the court. Moot courts are very necessary in the legal education and each and every student should participate which helps them to practical information how the cases are being presented in the court. Sir also added that effective communication by an advocate is very necessary in order to attract the concentration of the judges where presence of mind is very necessary. Sir concluded his speech saying that there is no retirement for the legal profession.
Dr. B.K Ravindra gave the presidential address to the students asking them to involve in the moot court and Mock trial proceedings. Moot Court is the replica of arguments in High Court. Mock trial is the replica of proceedings in the subordinate court. Interaction done by the students should be very effective. By involving theses activities Students will gain Courage and Confidence. Sir added that till the death knocks the door advocate will be always be an advocate which helps to lead a disciplined life. Sir, also stated about the importance of Legal Aid where the students are trained by the college and the students will be asked do social work to the society.
