The inauguration of National Service Scheme (NSS) activities for the academic year 2023-24 of Vivekananda Law College was held on 02/01/2024.
Dr. Arun Prakash, Head of the Department of English at Vivekananda College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Autonomous) Puttur was the Resource Person.
Addressing the students gathering after inauguration he said that NSS helps students to evolve completely .Patriotic mindset, service oriented perspective can lead to the overall development of an individual if proper training is given during the formative years of life. The role of NSS is appreciable in the development of rural areas. Active participation of NSS volunteers in the rural development activities also plays a crucial role in inculcating the social values among rural people.
Principal of Vivekananda Law College Smt. Akshatha A.P presided over the function. Explaining the importance of an NSS volunteer in serving the society, she mentioned the way needy people get benefited by the work which is done by NSS volunteers. She said that NSS teaches a disciplined life to the students especially it trains the students to become responsible citizens towards the society.
College NSS Coordinator Sri Lakshmikantha A, spoke on the vision and mission of NSS unit and gave a detailed explanation about the NSS activities.
An exclusive wall magazine named ‘Seva Bimba’ of NSS was also released during the occasion.
Miss Varsha of IIBALLB welcomed the gathering. Miss Akshatha of IIBALLB proposed vote of thanks.
NSS Coordinator College Miss Sriraksha, Teaching and Non Teaching staff were present in the programme.
