Student Council for the Academic year 2024-25 of Vivekananda Law College was inaugurated on 29/10/2024 at Sujnana Deepika Auditoium.
Addressing the Student Community after inauguration, Dr. Sripathi Kalluraya P, President of Vivekananda College of Arts ,Science and Commerce (Autonomous) , and Rtd. Professor and Chairman of Mangalore University said that student council plays an integral part in assorting various curricular, co curricular and other extension activities of college. Hence it is helpful to instill leadership skills in students. We can see a number of student representatives who are involved in student council activities in college have occupied high positions in their professional life. Vivekananda Law College provides students with such a good foundation by giving ample opportunities.
Highlighting the words of Douglass North, an American Economist, he added that institutions are the humanly devised constraints that structure political, economic and social interaction .Student Council is a micro institution like bank or family.
Sri Surendra Kini, President of Vivekananda Law College Governing Council presided over the programmer. In his presidential address he overviewed the programme and said that college is a place where future of the student should be formed. Students must focus on developing values and inculcate commitment, devotion, simplicity and sincerity without getting distracted by the unnecessary petty issues of the society. He congratulated the newly elected office bearers during the occasion.
The president of Student Council Mr.Ganesha J Baliga , Secretary Mr.Pradeep and Joint Secretary Shruthi T along with the class representatives took the oath to work for the progress of the student community in collaboration with staff and management. This was administered by the Students’ Welfare Office Ms.ShreeRaksha.
Dr.B.K.Ravindra, Director of Legal Studies, Smt.Akshatha A.P, Principal of Vivekananda Law College were present.
