Intra-class moot court competition was held at Vivekananda Law College campus on 18th of August 2021.
The event was organized in association with Puttur Taluk Legal Service Authority, Bar Association of Puttur, College Alumni Association and Moot Court Society.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the programme Mr. M. Ramesh , Principal Senior Civil Judge and ACJM ,guided the students community with his motivational speech. Honb’le Judge Sri Ramesh M., Civil Judge Senior Division, Puttur spoke on Legal Aid and Legal Literacy. He asked the students to inculcate the qualities like perseverance, farsightedness, and work hard with sheer willingness and dedication to fulfill the dreams .He also spoke about the importance of understanding the intricacies of legal research and acquiring the sufficient and strong hold over the utilization of legal data base. Encouraging all the students to participate in the activities like mooting he said how it would help students to culminate into a clinching argument in a moot court competition. He stressed the value of vision and mission with a practical example.
Speaking as a resource person to the event, Advocate Mr. Jayananda K. gave legal information and created awareness on fundamental rights and duties. He said that the constitution of India provides fundamental rights and duties to all its citizens. These basic human rights not only give moral obligations but also uphold unity of India, irrespective of race, caste, creed, religion or gender .
The president of Bar council Mr. Manohar K.V. presided over the function and shared his experience of being part of legal regime.
Highlighting an incident from M.K Gandhi’s life as a lawyer how one could achieve success even in the most difficult times by sticking to the truth and believing in one’s ability, he encouraged the students to build upon their skills and thrive in their desired fields.
Vishweshwara Bhat Bangaradka, President and Vijayanarayana K.M, Correspondent Vivekananda Law College, Alumni Association President Mr. Shashidhar B.N , Dr. B.K Ravindra Director of Legal Studies and Akshatha A.P Principal Of Vivekananda Law College were present in the event.
Followed by formal function, Intra Class Moot Court Competition was conducted. On the first day of competition, the draw of lots took place, followed by researchers test where in researchers of all the team took the test which was proctored by the event coordinators. The mooting session began where in 25 teams showcased their argument in 8 various court rooms before their respective judges.
Programme ended with distribution of certificates.
