An online orientation programme was held on 10 September 2020 at 10.00 a.m. at Vivekananda Law College, Puttur.
The Resource Person for the orientation programme was Sri Sooryanarayana N .K., Advocate, Puttur the Resource Person in the beginning spoke about the significance of law, Role of Law in society and the role to be played by the students of law. Mr. Sooryanarayan opined that law follows a human being from the time of birth up to the cremation ground. The resource person specified certain books for students of law, which a law students must read and instructed them to be like catalyst. Mr.Sooryanarayana also spoke about the importance of Legal Profession and the abundant opportunities that are available for a law student in the era of Globalisation.
The Second half of the session was conducted by Dr.B.K.Ravaindra, Director of Legal Studies, Vivekananda Law College, Puttur.
Dr. B. K. Ravindra spoke about the professional skills and how to carve out a niche for himself in any area of law or any avocation face the challenges of life.
Dr.B.K.Ravindra gave certain important tips for law students to become a true law professional, like,

- Financial stability.
- Developing analytical and critical bent of mind.

- Respect and Prestige.

- Successful law student always stay on track.
- Successful law student memorize materials weekly.
- Successful law student will be regular to class.
- Successful law student develop the Socrates method to know the things.
- Proper preparation prevents poor performance.
- Take advantage of the available resources.
- Stay humble and come out of fear. As Las Brown said “ Shoot for the Moon, Even if you miss, you will land among stars.”
Sri Vishweshwar Bhat Bangaradka, President, Vivekananda Law College Governing Council, gave his Presidential Address. The President of Governing Council observed that human values are very important for a law student. Sir gave the examples of Swami Vivekananda and Swami Ramakrishna as to how they led a disciplined life and showed to the world the significance of Human Values. He said the mind and soul should connect with each other then only you can reach the destination of your choice.
Prof. Akshatha A P, Principal, welcomed the new comers and wished then a happy stay at Vivekananda Law College.
