Smt. Jyothsna D., an alumna and Advocate, was being felicitated at Vivekananda Law College for being selected as District and Session Judge. The programme was named “Sadhana” and was held at college auditorium on 26th August 2021 in association with Alumni Association of Vivekananda Law College.
Secretary of Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha Puttur, Dr. K.M. Krishna Bhat, presided over the function. Sri P.IshwaraBhat Advocate Puttur was the chief guest. Sri Vijayanarayana K.M, Correspondent, Vivekananda Law College, Sri Shashidhar B.N. Alumini Association President, Dr. B.K Ravindra, Director of Legal Studies and Akshatha A.P principal of Vivekananda Law College were Present.
Progrmme started by invoking the Almighty.
Chief guest Sri. P Ishwara Bhat interacted with students through fluent oratory skills and introduced the students to the legal profession. He said that from formative years itself law students should practice thinking like lawyer, drafting like lawyer and arguing like lawyer to provide the justice to their career in future. He kept students engaged throughout the lecture by presenting cases and explained students how to draft issues in a concise manner as judge does in the court.
The alumna and Advocate Jyothsna D was felicitated by all the dignitaries.
Jyothsna D expressing her gratitude for those who guided and motivated her to reach the pinnacle of success said that with sheer will and determination anybody can fulfill their dreams.
She said that hard work and consistency can take a person to reach the goal and encouraged the students to focus on competitive exams which gives new dimension to the career. Few more tips were given by the speaker to students regarding competitive exams.
Dr. B.K. Ravindra providing an insight to the students regarding the techniques of being a good advocate and the functioning of courts at various level, discussed various aspects of practicing advocacy with efficiency and good morals and quoted the statement given by Immanuel Kant “In law, a man is guilty when he violates the rights of others . In ethics is guilty if he only thinks of doing so”.
Vijayanarayana K.M Correspondent, Vivekananda Law College spoke about the Bar and Bench relationship and emphasized the need for young lawyers to have an interest in rule of law and democracy. Speaking on length about democracy as an instrument to justice and not an instrument to create privileges, through her accomplishment Jyothsna D proved this statement rightly. Her achievement has also lifted the name of the Institution to the further heights Dr. K.M. Krishna Bhat congratulated Jyothsna D for being selected as District and Session Judge and added that behind every success there is a continuous practice.
