On 7.12.2019 A Workshop on POCSO was organized by Vivekananda Law College Puttur in Association with KILPAR. Programme started with the invocation of Almighty.
J.C Madhu Swamy inaugurated the function and addressed the audience about the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. He said that there should be given lot of social awareness about the sexual offence. Children are the countries future citizens. It is the duty of the adults to take care of them. Sir, spoke about the degree of punishment and penalty. We should get the proper amendments of the law for the development of the society. Sir said the importance of law profession. For legal profession client is the master and ended the speech.
Kadloor Sathyanarayana Acharya addressed the audience with the Sanskrit slokha “ Dharmo Rakshathi Rakshitha”. As the western culture has been influenced in the Indian society, the culture and ethics of the youth has been eloped, it is now necessary for us to restore the culture in the youth, by the that we can develop the civilized society. Sir also spoke about the punishment for false complaint. By developing the moral education, we can improve the mental status of the citizens.
Ishwar Bhat addressed the audience that in order to come out from the problem we have to follow the law and we should not go against it, if people are going against it, rigorous punishment should be imposed. Sir also spoke development of the college and ended the speech.
H.K Jagadish addressed the students about the POCSO act how the awareness should be given to the children and ended the speech by saying that Ignorance of Law is Not Allowed.
Shri Sanjeeva Matandoor started the speech by Sanskrit slokha “Sarvejana Sukino Bavanthu”. It is important for the government to protect the citizens of the country. Sir spoke about the importance of the law regarding women and children and ended the speech.
A.V Shrinath addressed the audience about the moral values, commencement of the act and the rules. Sir spoke about the some constitutional provisions relating to children. He spoke about the article 15, article 21-a, article 23, article 39(e) and 39. He said about the international charter and conventions, some special laws relating to children such as juvenile justice act 2005, bonded labour system Act, 1976 and ended the speech.
Formal function ended with the vote of thanks.

Revayya Odeyar gave the valedictory address about the POCSO and said that such seminars should be conducted in every college and ended the speech.
Time was given for the students to clarify the doubts. Programme ended with vote thanks and National Anthem.
